And I think that that plays a lot into the competitive nature in me, keeping a chip on my shoulder and making sure that I prove that I'm the pitcher that he believes in, that I believe in, that Ruben believes in, and ultimately go out there and win a lot of playoff games.
Yeah, I mean, that's part of the reason, because obviously I was injured.
I don't want to say it was a discount by any means.
It's still a lot of money, and I'm very happy with the contract.
But yeah, I think that I can definitely prove that I'm valuable.
I also think it continues to make me want to be a better pitcher and not settle just based on the contract that I signed.
World Series is definitely the first thing on my mind.
And I know that when I prioritize winning games and making my teammates better, everything will fall in place for me.
Yeah, it's kind of crazy.
Two years went by very quickly.
And yeah, I knew nothing about the organization.
I knew they had a ton of great talent in that locker room.
I was walking into a star-studded lineup, very happy I didn't have to face it for the last few years.
And I thought I was going from New York, this huge market, tons of fans, like very passionate fan base, to what I would have thought was like a small to mid-market team.
And I walk in and see this stadium rocking, and I was just like, this is real.
And so San Diego totally changed my perspective of Petco and the Padres, the way that they've welcomed me and my family to this city.
It's awesome walking in the streets and just getting a Go Padres as I walk by.
I think that the roots that we have placed here are going to stay with us forever.
And I could not be more happy with this decision to be with Padres.
Yeah, fully healthy.
