There was another ski shop that went out of business and they had a similar amount of inventory About $200,000 in inventory, rather. And it got auctioned off by the government. And I bought it for $13,000. So I went back to my dad. I said, hey, dad, I got great news. Like, not good news. I have great news.

Yeah. And that was like a ton of money to my family. Right. It was my college money. A lot of money. Right. So, I mean, that was the money put aside for me to go to college. I agreed, I'll pay to go to college. He lends me the money. Now I buy this new $13,000 inventory. Now he won't give me the money. And I realized I bought it from the government.

Like, they're going to come arrest me if I can't pay for it. So I start going knocking door to door, saying, hey, I got this great opportunity. I just bought this inventory. It's $200,000. I bought it for $13,000. And the third guy says, I'll lend you the money, but you're going to make a lot of money. I want $1,000 a week interest.

I actually thought $13,000, $1,000 a week interest, that ain't so bad. And I made the deal and I started going through the yellow pages. This is when we had yellow pages. I sold, I got the $16,000 back within three weeks to pay him back and had like 80% of the inventory left. Long story short, that near failure, by the time I was 21, this is unfortunately 31 years ago.
