First of all, I'm very blessed and I keep the company of the most amazing people.

I've always known this, but when you lose some friends, you start taking a good look at life.

And then, you know, like with Joey, I try to explain to people, you know, because people are really hard on me with Joey because...

you know, we separate it, you know, the band, you know, but human beings don't know the story.

Real friends don't tell it because of love.

And you get older, you start recognizing it.

No one in my career has really, like,

stopped me and asked me what the album cover was or why this, you know, I'm not trying to force it down anybody anymore.

You know, I never was, I just love art.

And that was my job was to be this like visionary sort of, you know, Paul Gray, the bass player who I started the band with, you know, he always said that I was going to change the face of metal the way it looks.

Yeah.

And you did.

I didn't recognize that until he was gone.

And with Joey, I didn't recognize how great he was and how blessed I was to be in his presence.

Because I was like, yo, you're late.

I carried your drum set up.

Don't do it again.

I'm going to kick it down the stairs.

And he's like, I'd like to see it.

We were bros.
