US Central Command said it had completed self-defence strikes, that was the wording, against Iran, hitting air defence, ground control stations and surveillance radar sites.
The US said the operation was a proportional response to recent attacks on US forces and also on international commercial ships that are transiting regional waters.
It is almost quite remarkable how resilient
the ceasefire has been though, because it has been fragile at times, but there have been a lot of incidents along the way where each one you think, okay, this is going to be it.
It's going to be all out war after that.
And yet the ceasefire by and large has actually held throughout that time.
Who knows?
Yeah.
Now, the attack did trigger a jump in the price of oil, though it didn't seem to affect the local share market, which actually closed higher yesterday.
