Welcome back to the PDB Situation Report.
Joining us once again is George Barros, Director of Innovation and Open Source Tradecraft at the Institute for the Study of War.
George, thanks very much for sticking around here on the PDB Situation Report.
Let me ask you this.
Early on, you were talking in the previous segment about sort of the slow gains that they're making, the territorial gains.
On the question of at what cost, what human cost, what are the latest credible statistics that you're hearing in terms of Russian casualties and also on the other side, the Ukrainian casualties?
And I know I've asked you this question in the past.
I know we've had a conversation about how difficult it is to actually pin that number down in an accurate way.
But what do you think currently?
What does that say about what is that?
Because we've been hearing reports that
As an example, that the Russian military is having trouble with their supply lines because the Ukrainians have been increasingly successful at hitting those supply routes with drone technology in particular.
But what does it say if the if the Ukrainians are able to move?
heavy hardware and vehicles closer to the front lines.
Is that an indication that the Russian military is having a problem with with with their ability to strike further into?
Because you would think it would be almost tit for tat at this point, given that both sides have very capable drone services.
That is fascinating.
Let me ask you this.
With the casualty rates climb, and say that the Ukrainians are aiming for 50,000 Russian casualties a month, maybe they're approaching 40,000.
