It's been five months since the collapse of Nicolas Maduro's regime and the political landscape in Venezuela continues to shift.

In recent weeks, Washington and Caracas have taken an additional step toward restoring diplomatic and economic ties after years, of course, of hostility, sanctions, and mutual distrust.

But major questions remain about the country's political future, the stability of its new government, and whether Venezuela can reverse years of economic decline and institutional decay.

For more on that, I want to bring in Rick De La Torre.

He's a retired CIA operations officer with over 20 years of experience and the former station chief, by the way, for Caracas.
