Like the mammal emerging out of systems where there was no evidence of mammalian life.
And then all of a sudden there was.
Now there's elements where the mammal in the earlier...
I don't know, I guess reptilians or whatever previous proto-mammalians.
But we don't see gradualism.
So there's not a gradual emergence of one species slowly, gradually evolving over time into a new species.
You tend to get these...
quantum leaps in a sense.
Right, like apes and us.
Yeah, like there's correlations.
You couldn't have us where they're not apes that appeared and grew.
Well, there's more ape-like people walking around for sure, but like there's clearly like a huge gap.
Yeah, or at some points there was no evidence of material life on the earth and there was.
And that's like, that's a nonlinear leap that there wasn't material, like living matter.
And then there was.
There wasn't photosynthesis.
And then there was.
So these nonlinear leaps are really important.
And oftentimes whole systems will change.
