There's two thoughts of data that he posts about.

The first thought with handguns is that you get the biggest honking revolver known to mankind and you should have your one shot that should be good enough to actually drop the bear.

And the other school of thought is to get a semi-auto handgun that gives you as many rounds as is humanly possible so that you have as many oopsie rounds as

in your high adrenaline-fueled pantaloon-pooping stage,

as you can get.

Um, now the proof, he, he references an article I've read a couple of times and he's added to it since the last time I read it.

I think, um, if anybody is a fan of ammo land, Dean Weingarten is a, if I remember right, he's a retired cop and he writes a bunch of pro second amendment articles for ammo land.

Um, he did a thing back in 2021, uh,

He started out adding 104 incidents in 2021.

And these were 104 incidents of...

bear attacks and handguns being used to defend during the bear attack.

Uh, it has every article that he and his researchers were able to look up, uh, not article, but every, all the facts of every case that he was able to look up the outcome, the caliber, the type of gun if available.

Um, and he published, uh,

By the math, it says 170 incidents, but the article says 104 incidents, another 123 were added, and the final 25 were added in November 2023.

So my math is 249.

But, okay, so.

I'm going to get to the three times that they failed.

He studied 170 cases where only handguns were fired.
