If you did a snapshot right here, right now, this morning, with some sun on the horizon, possibly a deal, oil going down, would it be materially different, or are we just in a funk?
See, the problem with this is that virtually all regions are affected, yet there are regions statistically unprovable that are booming.
Why are we miserable when we're booming?
Is this the new normal?
And if it is the new normal, how long do you reckon it takes us to adjust to the fact it is the new normal?
Is there a disconnect, though, from what you see in the people you talk to?
I mean, when you get into a staff cafeteria, are there the people who go, you know what, I mean, quietly, we're doing reasonably well, but, you know, everyone else is down in the dump, so we don't want to advocate that too much.
Is there a bit of that about the place?
That's true.
What jobs are they doing?
I mean, the Oracle numbers over, I mean, this is international, but the Oracle numbers overnight, 21,000 people, AI, all that sort of stuff.
Are we doing more with fewer people?
Hence the fear, if you like, around jobs.
I might not be safe because God knows what happens tomorrow.
Good insight, Alan.
Appreciate it as always.
So what do we make of these AI security warnings?
So the Five Eyes Alliance, of which we are part of, of course, has issued this call to action, a warning to rogue states could soon use AI to overwhelm cyber defenses, governments and critical infrastructure.
Now, Anthony Glees is an intelligence led security expert at the University of Buckingham and is with us.
Anthony, morning.
