I would argue it's really like kind of early first mover advantage that open AI and anthropic to some degree, but really open AI has capitalized on.
Like when people think chat bot now, I would say they think chat GPT.
And like, you know, for the Meta Ray bands are like a surprise hit for them, but a modest hit, you know, it's like they sold 7 million pairs of glasses last year, which is a lot, but they're dealing in the billions of people they want to use, you know?
So for as much money as they're spending, they're not where they want to be for sure.
I mean, yes.
Yeah, like in a nutshell, literally, yes.
But I think the thing is, Mark and his top lieutenants, I would say, were very gung-ho on metaverse and VR.
And then a few years ago, they realized they were getting lapped by competitors in this field of AI, which is a very important field.
And so the problem that Meta had was they needed to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on AI to keep up with the rest of the industry and were already spending tens of billions of dollars on virtual reality stuff, which was losing them tons of money, basically not making that up.
So I think...
This year, really, they had to start making some hard choices, you know?
Have they killed the metaverse in VR?
But I don't think they're going to be as gung-ho as you saw a few years ago, for sure.
I think the end goal that they think about this is, like, all of this is gonna kind of converge at some point.
On our faces.
That's the landing spot.
