And quite frankly, as great a goalscorer as he is, and he's leading the team in points, do you think there's another team that could absorb that kind of player in the way that he plays?

Can you imagine going into a market and watching him sort of stand around, shooting pucks, getting 28, 30, 35 goals, but you're like, we're playing with four guys out here.

We give the puck to him and then he's still it's like it's very different to watch him play now.

So maybe this fast tracks like if he's going to play one more year, maybe this forces him to rethink that and and stop in Washington a year early.

I would think that whatever he was going to do before John Carlson was traded is the same thing.

He will do now after.

In the moment, it's raw.

It hurts.

It's sad.

It's all those things that they showed.

But I think once you get over it over a week, 10 days, two weeks, you realize John Carlson is still your buddy.

He's coming back to Virginia in the summer.

You can hang out with him all the time.

Life goes on.

Hockey goes on.

If you're going to play, he'll probably play again in Washington.

But I can't see him going anywhere else.

And I honestly...

I know he's still good, but I don't know what the market would be for him around the league.

He's such a unique player now.
