Defensive coverage has been terrible.

Yeah, the offense scores a bunch.

The power play is still wicked, but they don't have depth scoring.

All the same issues, but maybe more exacerbated than years past.

But the one thing I don't mind...

is honest Connor McDavid.

I got a lot of time for honest Connor McDavid.

And I have no problem when the best player puts everyone on notice, including the coaches, because the coaches mess up too.

And players never ever sort of publicly criticize, say, our coaches haven't been very good this year.

Coaches will say that about players.

Players never say about coaches.

But when McDavid says,

John Cooper's team is so well organized and so well run.

And then it asks why your team is in that way, says ask our coach.

I don't mind putting everyone on notice.

Players, goalies, coaches, management, they are all responsible.

All responsible for the place they find themselves in.

It's not just on the players.

It's on everybody, including McDavid.

Because I like the idea of that guy putting the spotlight on everyone, including himself.
