Update for the evening.

Look, I'm guardedly very optimistic.

We've got a real shot at this.

Our next strategy has got to just involve delaying as long as possible the moment where we cast a cloture vote.

The longer we can leave the debate hanging without cloture,

The more we have the chance to force Democrats to articulate their basis for opposing this, we can debate, vote on, perhaps pass amendments along the way.

But we want to avoid any short hop to a cloture vote.

If we run immediately to that, knowing that we've got a 10 vote cloture deficit, we're going to lose and lose quickly.

We can't have that happen.

We want to keep this hanging for as long as possible without a cloture vote.

We shouldn't fall for cloture.

until we think we can get to 60.

And otherwise, we keep it going.

Keep it hanging out there.

Make them stay for a long period of time, through weekends, perhaps threatening recesses.

That will tend to move things along.

Let's get this done.

We're not gonna slow down.

Let's accelerate into the turn.

Let's get this thing passed.
