It's empire expansion.

And this is because they're already counting on the 18th game that will push the schedule another week or two later.

No, I don't think they can.

At some point, the product is spread too thin and it collapses.

Before we get to the truly foreboding crystal ball, I do want to explain...

So many of the things that you've already mentioned just spontaneously are themes running through this book.

Yeah.

The idea that there are hundreds of thousands of people in real life who will go and fill the streets of a host city for the draft.

Yeah.

The idea that men will leave their ostensible loved ones to hang out and just name some dudes.

The idea that we are starving for something psychologically.

Yeah.

You know, I think you can go to certainly NFL stadiums for that, but you don't need to.

I want to actually paint the picture of darts.

Well, start with the fact that darts was the impetus to write the book because a buddy of mine sent me a video and said, you got to watch this.

And it was two stocky gentlemen throwing darts at a dartboard with blank expressions on their faces.

Just thunk, thunk, thunk.

But as they did this, a crowd of what appeared to be thousands of people behind them, with each throw, got their engines revving higher and higher and higher.
