Because it means if we go onto YouTube and we see a thing that's like, what's he, Daggerheart killing D&D, question mark?
You can be like, that's RPG business punditry and it doesn't affect my game, right?
And you can put it in its own little box and you might go watch it because you're interested, but you know that it isn't really affecting your game at the end.
So I thought that that was an interesting insight that I had in myself that I wanted to share.
There's another kind of thought that's similar to all of these things that I wanted to dive into today, and that is what makes an RPG successful?
So a few weeks back in April, I had a talk here where I talked about what does it take for an RPG to die?
That's sort of the low floor, right?
Like when we think about this hobby, I think it's useful to think about like how durable and resilient RPGs can be.
And that when it comes down to it, if there's only one person on the planet who is still playing a solo version of Ironsworn.
That means iron sworn is still alive.
If there's one person who has their copy of thousand year old vampire, who's sitting there doing some journaling and pretending to be in the role of a vampire, that game is successful.
So it really takes, you know, and I had really good conversations.
You can go back and watch that series.
You could also see like the, the, the Ian world thread where people talked about what it takes for an RPG to die.
And, you know, again, we sort of all get to decide what that means.
But for me, it means like it really takes a lot of work for an RPG to die.
So this really this conversation about what makes an RPG successful is related to that topic of what does it take for an RPG to die?
The way I think about it is kind of like what's the low floor and then what's sort of the ceiling look like on what when when do we look at RPG go?
That is a successful RPG.
A friend of mine, I had a conversation with a friend of mine just yesterday who went out for, yesterday was free RPG day.
