But it was important to minimize the time in between interviews.
I had people helping me out, just lining up the next person as we went along.
Well, I did a call out on social media.
It sort of just confirmed my belief that most people, I would say easily nine out of 10 people are up for a chat.
they're strangers.
People want to be listened to.
They want to be validated.
They want to be heard.
Fundamentally, I think this is a human thing.
And so if you say, hey, I'm doing this thing, do you want to have a chat?
People will come.
If you build it, they will come.
Yes, that was a question I was asking almost annoyingly the whole way through the book because I was trying to place it and it feels so close to home.
The setting that we go to is a fictional suburb called Par Mars, which sounds eerily similar to the suburb I grew up in, Parramatta.
And you have these references to Australia, but then there's these things that couldn't possibly be Australia because there's references to earthquakes
and a couple of other things that make you question where we are.
So I wasn't sure, but I knew we were in the West somewhere.
That was made clear.
