And so coming back to school kick-started me joining the school leadership team and, you know, wanting to promote inclusivity within my own school.

You always think about, is it going to happen again?

You know, a situation like that can be traumatic.

That's why a support system is very important.

And I've always been a big advocate for asking for support when you need it, because there are people around that are willing to support you.

Yeah.

Politics was never in the peripheral, right?

I wanted to go volunteer, experience the world and do all of those things.

One day I'm sitting at home, I open Instagram and I see one of my older brother's mates.

He's at North Melbourne mosque and he's speaking to the entire community and he goes, the Flemington North Melbourne towers have been locked down

It's been announced to be locked down for two weeks.

They can't enter or exit, et cetera, et cetera.

We need the entire community here.

We need to support our family and our friends.

And it was a call to action.

And it galvanized the entire community, Ruby.

And I was one of them.

And so I...

tucked my phone, put my shoes on, and I went straight there.

And for two weeks, I got to see the most amazing advocacy community-centered work, grassroots work I've ever seen.
