The US and Iran are inching towards a deal that could reopen the Strait of Hormuz soon, even as President Trump insisted Sunday he wouldn't rush into an agreement.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio shared an update before visiting the Taj Mahal overnight in India.
Iran's foreign minister agrees they've reached a consensus on many issues, but the reopening of Hormuz and Iran's nuclear program are still major sticking points.
Meantime, oil keeps falling on the prospect of a new deal, with Brent crude now down more than 5% at about $98 a barrel.
And global stocks are higher.
The FTSE in London is up 0.2%, the CAC in Paris is up 1.9%, and the DAX in Germany is up 1.6%.
