An Iranian ballistic missile strike has injured several Americans on an airbase in Kuwait.
This happened as President Trump considers whether to extend a fragile ceasefire in the region that's been in place since April.
Sources tell Bloomberg five people were hurt in that attack, including contractors and active duty personnel.
A $30 million Reaper drone was also destroyed.
Another was seriously damaged.
Meantime, the White House is sending conflicting messages about the prospect of a deal, despite President Trump's two-hour meeting yesterday in the Situation Room.
Former California Congresswoman Jane Harman talked to Bloomberg and says she'd like a happy resolution, but doesn't see it yet.
Trump has repeated demands that Iran give up its nuclear ambitions and reopen the Strait of Hormuz without tolls, but hasn't said whether Iran has agreed.
Treasury Secretary Scott Besson says U.S.
sanctions on Iran are hurting its economy.
Besson suggests the Trump administration could remove some of those sanctions depending on how this standoff shakes out.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth says the U.S.
could also restart strikes in Iran while addressing a security summit in Singapore today.
He went on to talk about U.S.
partnerships in the Pacific and China's military expansion.
Hegseth speaking there in Singapore.
He also took swipes at NATO and longstanding partners in Europe, saying Western Europe might take note.
It's been slow going, but roughly a quarter of oil tankers stranded in the Strait of Hormuz have made it out.
