And that's exactly why the Y DNA was so important here.
Obviously, none of the victims had Y chromosomes.
Like, these were all girls.
So looking for the Y DNA would make it really easy to separate, like, because those mixtures also contained their DNA.
And the lab was able to find 16 Y-DNA markers in those crime scene samples, which was enough to exclude all four suspects, Michael, Robert, Forrest, and Maurice.
