you know do you reckon you could do things around the space that's not casting and still get the same level of enjoyment that's the question like i miss the team element right that's what i miss is like that's why it'd be nice to be like coaching a team or like an assistant coach of the team because you get that team element back we don't really have that with what we do we used to a long time ago but that's when everyone was getting drunk all the time jason yeah we were a great team back then now that we've severed up everyone fucking hates each other
Yeah, well, the reality of who we are also started to settle in.
I have to worry with this, though, because what we do is not like competing, right?
So I guess there is competition to a degree because you have other people who are in the same field who are competing for positions at events, right?
But when you're playing and you're a player, that drive can eventually go away.
But it's also the thing that keeps pushing you
it's the thing that keeps pushing you to like you know you look at somebody like Fallen for example the fact he's stayed on top of the meta of Counter-Strike for such like a long period of time because you have to otherwise you won't be able to compete like in our space you know what we do is subjective so like people one day might like you and the next day they might not and that's one of the things where the idea of thinking can you do this forever I would assume with everybody in this space eventually like public sentiment gives in and people are just not in anymore right like that's kind of how
think I think sometimes longevity can work for you in a way you know that you've been around more established sports like you see that in much like I see people saying oh you know this guy's been commentating I don't know fucking ice hockey forever right it's not I don't know it doesn't feel the same in ours because we we seem to have like a our main turnover of viewers are still younger people even though it's a broad demographic like we're going up into the mid to mid 30s to like 40s and stuff now like and probably even more um
It's an interesting thing.
You don't want to ever get washed as well.
Yeah, but I don't like...
Somebody like Fallen will always be like Fallen in the space, right?
I feel, I don't know, the thing I was talking about is, and you mentioned something to do with it there, but it's, you know, staying on top of what you do, no matter what it is, like whether it's playing or if it's like commentating or you're on the analyst desk or however you're presenting yourself, like you have to stay up to date with all the things that are going on, right?
And it's very clear when, you know, you stop doing that or...
you know that the motivation changes from like i really enjoy this thing to this pays well as a as another thing like obviously those that's why i guess i was starting with you got to be grateful of the cool thing we get to do and framing it as a job i think is like a trap that you can fall into obviously what we do you know you you people go oh that's not easy and we've seen recently with examples of people going oh you can't just put anybody in front of a camera like i get all that but at the end of the day we are just fucking talking about a video game aren't we so
Yeah.
It was fun.
That was a good one.
Look, there's a lot of... Well, that's the thing, you know.
You can... Let's get philosophical.
