You know, in the back line, I think, as far as back plays, he sees that all very clearly and he's,
he's worked with all those different roles but in the forwards he'll always ask he'll always consult with the assistant and i think that's really good because if you're a specialist in one area you know like like like the scrum is a classic example i know nothing about the scrum i was a number eight so i didn't bother worrying about the scrum
and i think it's almost the same same thing for dave he's not going to get caught up in the front row and the line outs and the locks he's going to ask those coaches that he's put in that position but the great thing i think is that you know if you can see clearly what is happening now without the past interfering with you then you'll make good calls and good selections and i think we saw um this all-black team is really well selected i mean there are some issues because of injury
I think we are short in certain areas because of injury.
And Dave will admit that as well.
I mean, I think there's a number of players out that aren't available, obviously in the second row locks and also in the loose forwards.
And I think one of the, you know, I mean, this is my baby and people are getting frustrated probably listening to me say it, but it's true.
If you don't have the guys to win you the ball, the game's a hell of a lot harder.
And I think a lot of journalists gloss over the top of that because they're looking at what people are contributing, not necessarily looking at, hey, have we got enough ball to beat South Africa and South Africa?
And so I think we need to have three really, really strong line out forwards.
And when I look at the loose forwards besides Parker,
He's the only guy that's got any size that's going to compete with him.
Okay, so to answer that really succinctly is that, you know, we need the ball.
The bottom line is we need the ball.
And you can't carry half the loose forwards who aren't going to win the ball in the air.
You've got to carry a couple of loose forwards that can win the ball at the breakdown, for example, where it's got nothing to do with height.
It's to do with anticipation.
and cohesion and technical skills.
And Karifi's really good in that way, by the way.
But there's a whole lot of others that he's named that are too.
