It's not just that houses have become more expensive since the pandemic.
It's that there are fewer, cheaper homes.
In 2019, a family making $75,000 a year could afford about half of all home listings.
In 2026, they could afford less than a quarter.
This comes from a new report from Realtor.com and the National Association of Realtors.
Nadia Evangela co-authored the report and says some areas are becoming better balanced.
But she says there's a long way to go to making them affordable.
