I'm sure you've been in some difficult conversations with yourself and others.
What would you have done differently now looking back in the last year?
Because an Ashes doesn't just start in that first week leading up to Perth.
Before that, what would you have done differently?
Well, you look at the reasons why we ended up losing it.
Can I ask you about Brendan McCullum?
Because part of being a great coach is stubbornness.
Now, when we last spoke to him at the end of the Ashes, he was being stubborn.
And I like that in a coach.
but he didn't look like someone that was willing to change.
Now, that could be emotional.
After a 4-1 defeat, we've all been there, emotional press conferences.
He didn't look like someone that was willing to change.
Is he looking to change because he firmly believes that's the right thing to do or because he's trying to keep his job and he has to change?
And I thought they did that brilliantly.
I've got two more questions on McCullum.
Being a leader, a big part of it is being authentic.
How can you go four years being one way and then stroll in to the next Test match and be different and be a bit tougher and be a bit more in their face and say, no, no, no, you're playing too many shots?
And players will look at you and go, well, for four years you've told me a different way.
Leadership is about embodying what you say and being authentic.
