And they're spending big on data centres, as we know.
And they've got this new product, which I was reading about, the Vera CPU, which this is going to be the major new growth driver, opening up and also saying it could open up about $200 billion of revenue if the company can capture the market.
And it's what a lot of these major AI companies are now relying on,
to basically better interact with consumers and do it more cheaply.
The companies can do it more cheaply than previously because of this product.
Unfortunately, Dan, this is going to be a common story that we keep seeing.
7,000 employees were also reassigned to new AI initiatives.
And it's come off the back of other tech giants also announcing job losses because of the AI boom.
So Cisco recently said they would fire 4,000 employees.
I was also reading this really interesting side note in The Guardian about how all these tech companies have long been such great places to work, perks of free food, so much flexibility.
And employees are reporting that those are really starting to diminish.
So they've seen that as part of the company culture shifting.
And now also they're feeling disillusioned.
The Guardian quoted one employee talking about how
Now they were posting flyers across Meta offices that ask questions like, you know, what are Meta doing?
We want Meta to stop collecting employee data to feed their AI models because they're really worried about, you know, the privacy kind of aspect related.
I think, you know, when we talk about these numbers, we forget these are humans, human lives affected.
And it'll be interesting to see how the company goes about treating its employees as this kind of AI boom keeps impacting jobs.
Because of the first Guardian and Shield financial collapses, these were two managed investment schemes that a lot of people had pumped their retirement savings into.
