While the lawmakers didn't specify which orders may be illegal, several of them have worried aloud about the legality of Trump's orders to kill suspected drug smugglers in the Caribbean and his orders to deploy troops in U.S.

cities.

An unlikely mix of Democrats and Republicans came together on Thursday to pay tribute to former Vice President Dick Cheney during his funeral service in Washington.

Among those in attendance were former Vice Presidents Mike Pence and Kamala Harris, and former Presidents Joe Biden and George W. Bush.

In his eulogy, Bush recounted his unexpected decision to pick Cheney as his vice president against the wishes of some of his advisors.

Notably absent were President Trump and his vice president, J.D.

Vance, both critics of Cheney.

Neither of them were invited to the funeral.
