These moments that I think are genuinely moving and important and are standouts in terms of what sets apart Dresden from a lot of paranormal fantasy is this sort of depth and these moments of humanity

a lot of writers don't bother with this stuff.

They're just trying to write a real fun action story, you know?

And this is what I think makes it special and something that feels so much more real on a lot of levels.
