Stocks are getting off to a kind of cautious start.
That is the sound of the opening bell from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.
And at the open, the S&P 500 is wavering between gains and losses, trading above 6,900.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average opens higher by about three-tenths of one percent, a gain of more than 160 points there.
But the Nasdaq Composite opens lower, down about a quarter percent or about 50 points.
