You often say that to Niall, don't you?
Yeah, it's kind of, if fun is the right word, to look at some of the record-breaking seizures in the past.
But regardless of the figures associated with this one, they seem to be dialing it back a little bit.
Because initially it was 35 to 45 tons.
Then it was going up to 50.
It seems to be today reverting back to only 30 tons.
What's the value they're putting on it?
So it was going up as far as 3.5 billion euro for the initial estimates.
But I think they're still going through it.
I mean, we were looking at some drone footage today and it looks like it's going to take them a while to actually go through, retrieve all these drugs from the hull of this ship that was intercepted on May Day quite dramatically, it looks like, by armed special forces that stormed onto the ship.
And the Spanish are kind of delighted with themselves because they're hailing it as a
pretty big coup for them.
Their interior minister is saying that it was one of the biggest, not only nationally, but internationally.
He's probably right there.
And just to put it in context, the biggest seizure in Ireland, September 2023 on the MV Matthew, was a mere two tons.
And that was a big deal.
