Mariah stayed with a close friend in this Austin apartment. But the next evening, just before 10 p.m., the friend returned home and discovered Mariah, who had been shot multiple times.

They had spent the day together, and at around 8.30 p.m., he brought her home on the back of his motorcycle. Colin Strickland, who was 35, was considered a pioneer in the sport.
