who contacted us and you could, you know, he shared some of the messages, you know, very much out of control.

So what did he say?

McKernan about it.

The escort.

Yeah, the escort basically described getting one of these checks but he also said that McKernan, well his claim was that McKernan duped him out of one of the payments as well and that was one of the reasons that he had fallen out with him.

But he said that he was booked by McKernan for an orgy, that he received a payment through a fake electronic fund transfer basically on behalf of this charity, that he smoked crystal meth throughout the night, McKernan, and that then he had a falling out over the payments and McKernan then threatened to go to the guards and threatened to kill himself.

You know, it was all very out of control.

And some of these messages were paid for us.

Now, like it's possible to have some sympathy for McKiernan in that he obviously was not well.

Yeah.

I mean, look, I mean, he obviously got totally out of control.

But I think the bit that's, you know, harder to understand, it's not the fact that he was paying escorts, which obviously is still illegal, or even taking drugs, which is also illegal.

I suppose the fact that you're taking from a charity that's dealing with people... And I don't think any of the money has been paid back.

No, and I don't think he has access to it.

I mean, I think it's one thing for somebody to commit...

regrettable acts as a result of addiction, absolutely.

But I think the thing that strikes home with this is that this is money that goes to people very much in need.

Yeah.

And I think as well that people, I mean, again, it's not a particularly sophisticated crime.

I mean, this is not a massive international charity that's not going to notice 172,000.
