And then I just got to make sure that the incentives never allow another Atlantic writer to go over there.
Yeah, it's a really interesting trade-off, right?
Like some writers probably are better.
Some readers probably prefer writers who aren't edited, right?
Because you get them like unfiltered.
You get it right at the moment.
There's no time delay.
Most writers, they're way better when edited.
They may not think that's the case, but it is true, right?
Like, you know, I spent many years at The New Yorker.
Take all those writers, put those first drafts on the internet, right?
Show them to readers.
The writers might be happy.
The readers won't be happy.
And there's a real value that comes from that.
There are individuals where it makes more sense to them for them to go raw, unfiltered, direct.
And then there are many where it makes more sense.
Like, I love the fact checking.
I love the editing for my prose.
But I think you're right.
