I'm Nick Davis and this is the documentary on BBC World Service. For Heart and Soul, we're in Jamaica to meet Kurt Henry and explore his unique religion with its roots buried deep in the island's ancestral history. What marks you out as a revivalist?
Silloin itselleni isäni teki reviivalistisia rituaaleja, joita hän kertoi koko ajan.
I knew that I wanted to pursue an era in revivalism.
Tällainen itsearvon järjestelmä liittyy Kurtille siihen, mitä hän uskoo olevan hänen suunnitelmansa. Varmistaa kulttuurista ja maailmallista merkitystä revivalismista UNESCOn kautta. Olin osa ryhmästä, joka pystyi revivalismiin kutsumaan UNESCOn intangible cultural heritage list of humanity.
Kurt on nyt rakennettu reviivalismiin, eikä kulttuurilaisuudella, vaan elävällä, kokoelmalla Afrikasta, joka on tehty tänään tuhansien jamaikkojen kautta. Olen koulussa Afrikan religioiden käsittelyssä, ja aina aloitan koulutukseni kysymään, mitä ajattelet reviivalismista?
Kertsar-guide to revivalism to the Wattown pilgrimage and to the extraordinary ceremonies that happen high in the mountain parish of St. Anne on the first Thursday of March every year. Why Wattown?
Nyt entistä enemmän kasviksia ja aina sataprosenttisesti suomalaista lihaa. Käykää hän valmiiseen pöytään. ABC.
Wat Town is a twisting couple of hours drive from my home in Kingston. And on this day each year, this is where revivalists gather to climb a winding hill path.
Men and women wear brightly coloured turbans, tunics, trousers and dresses. It's a sea of yellows and reds. Blues and greens and the band nearest to me now, they're in purple. This is burgundy that's being worn, right? Burgundian revivalism is referred to as the maroon order.

You've been listening to Heart and Soul on the BBC World Service. The programme was presented by me, Nick Davis, the producer was Matt O'Donoghue, and the executive producer, Rajiv Gupta. Until next time, thanks for listening.
The storm has slowly been moving along the south coast at between 3 and 7 miles an hour for about a day, only about 100 miles out, but it's due to turn inland tonight, bringing record levels of rainfall up to 30 inches.
So with that extensive flooding,
It'll cover the island with major hurricane conditions, and so the government has put in place a mandatory evacuation order in some low-lying areas.
Hurricane Melissa is expected to make landfall in the early hours of tomorrow morning and be here for almost 12 hours before it leaves.
For NPR News, I'm Nick Davis in Jamaica.
