Astronomers have used a space telescope to observe an asteroid codenamed 2024 YR4, which earlier this year seemed to be at a small risk of hitting Earth in December 2032. Earth is now safe, but astronomers are cheering on a possible collision with the moon. 2024 YR4 has been labelled a so-called city killer asteroid, not a planet destroyer.
