I don't understand.
This isn't a criticism.
I don't understand why George is doing this other than I guess... How do I put this?
By doing this, all that it means is he has to show up for work.
So good for him in that he wants to do the off-season program.
He wants to do training camp, all those things.
If he hadn't signed the franchise tag...
He would have been able to skip all those things, and they wouldn't have been able to fine him.
It wouldn't have cost him any money.
But if he is trying to build up his free agency value as high as possible, whether it be to earn an extension with the Cowboys or next offseason, get the best market deal imaginable,
Coming to the offseason stuff and getting as prepared as possible to have the best season as possible is a good move.
Usually, guys, when they want a long-term deal and the team tags them, they wait as long as possible to sign it.
