If you have said, if you have given an anchor-
So the anchor is a reference point.
And you want the, let's say that's the price of your service or the salary that you're expecting, and you want to appear genuine and trustworthy, don't immediately start conceding.
We are taught to negotiate in that way.
Start here, the other party starts there, and we meet in the middle.
Instead, you continue to say, this is worth 20,000, or this is the salary that I think that I'm worth.
If you can't do that, let's see how we can come up with a creative solution.
Perhaps it's not that you pay 20,000 for this book.
Perhaps you pay 10,000 today and 10,000 next year.
Or perhaps you pay less for this book, but you hire me for something and I can make up the cost.
Or perhaps I just tear a few pages out and you get 20% of this book.
You know what I'm saying?
So you can come up with a creative solution.
I had this conversation this morning, actually, with a firm that I said, the price of my services are this.
And they went, our budget is, you know, 75% of that.
And I said, you know what, let's do it because I would really love to work with you.
It would be an introductory offer, but you're not going to get exactly that service.
You're going to get not a bespoke workshop, but you're going to get a standard workshop.
