And this is sort of where the difference between something like a suspended sentence and the difference between parole might come into play.

Someone on parole might be subject to much stricter conditions than someone who's just on a suspended sentence.

So if you're released on parole, you might have to wear an ankle monitor.

You might have to check in with your parole officer.

The parole board makes decisions about whether or not you can be released early.

But that's very different to a suspended sentence, which is what Matt Wright is currently serving.
