What was discussed in the meeting, those details are still yet to be ironed out.
But the fact that it happened, and so openly, seemingly is a large step of progress.
It happened, but it didn't involve the Nobel Peace Prize winner and high profile opposition leader, Maria Corina Machado.
So is she being sidelined?
Well, the individual, the former opposition lawmaker, Donora Figuera, she was the person in the seat.
And this has come as a surprise to many people, as Maria Corina Machado has long been the dominant face of the opposition movement.
However, Figuera, who just returned to Caracas after eight years in exile with the support of President Trump, as well as approval by Mizorriquez's government,
She has said that she's distanced herself from the other opposition leader, Maria Corina Machado, and she wants to kind of have a different path towards democracy.
Sidelining perhaps is kind of too concrete a term at the moment, but it does definitely show that there is a political transition potentially in the mix, but it's no longer centred around a singular opposition leader.
This is a new figure, a surprising one, which is backed by the US.
Unlike Marina Cunha Machado, she was snubbed by the Trump administration when Nicolas Maduro was ousted in January.
Many thought she would swoop in and take that opposition position.
That hasn't happened.
So now it seems to be a bit of a tussle and more voices have been thrown into the ring.
So what does all this mean for Venezuelan democracy and indeed life for ordinary people there?
Venezuelans have been calling for elections to happen.
Many thought they would happen or would happen by now since Maduro was ousted earlier this year.
One thing we have seen is that opposition candidates, leaders and supporters have been able to be more vocal and show their support inside the country.
And that is something which was, like I said, not able to happen before Nicolas Maduro was captured.
