Because two reasons.

One, I'm by myself.

There is no Kate here with me, no Kate from HowToMoney.

It is just little old me, so you're stuck with me for the next few minutes.

And the second reason this is a special episode is that Kate and I have something exciting to announce.

We are hosting the very first Australian Finance Podcast event.

The event is in Melbourne later this month, and it's going to be a cracker.

We've got some great panelists and guests lined up, and it's free.

So how good is that?

I'm also led to believe that there will be some wine and some beer available as long as the fridges don't run out too fast from everyone having a great night.

But I can tell you what, if you're looking to really get on top of your financial goals this year, maybe you have some goals for investing, for budgeting, maybe you just want to get out of debt and you need to talk to people who have done that.

This is the event for you.

This is the event I would want to come to if I want to meet people who have lots of positive energy and are happy to share some of their wisdom.

You'll also get to hear and meet me and Kate and a few of our expert panelists.

I'm sorry to anyone who is not in Melbourne, which is where Kate and I both reside.

We will attempt to record the events and put them online, hopefully within a day.

I'd like to think that, but I don't want to be the Elon Musk of making promises for finance events.

Hopefully we can release the footage from the event within a day, maybe two of the event taking place, so later this month in January.

So anyone that is outside of Victoria can take part.
