This is actually really good.
It's a dark comedy called The Artist, set in the Gilded Age, starring Mandy Patinkin, Janet McTeer.
I played Thomas Edison in it, oddly.
Also not on my bingo card.
How do you work up the Thomas Edison voice?
It's funny you ask, Pablo.
I was reading it out loud.
I'm like, I don't have, my voice does not have enough gravitas, especially because he's sort of the straight man in this.
It's a very sicko.
It's set in the Gilded Age, and they use the C word like every page.
Thomas Edison doesn't say it, but I reacted to it quite a lot.
And...
It just didn't seem right as my voice.
I'm too moderate.
I don't know.
And so I came up, I was like, it needs to be deeper and it needs to be more erudite and have weight.
And it's Superintendent Chalmers is what it is.
I was going to say, I didn't want to out Thomas Edison.
He sounds like a superintendent.
He's Superintendent Chalmers, but apparently Gary Chalmers always wanted to be a great inventor, and he admires Edison very much, so I cast him.
