They figure, though, that the voters will be on their side in their numbers because, as I say, Generation Z and millennials are becoming a dominant part of the electoral landscape.
But you know what?
The real truth is there are very few people who are rusted on now.
So there's a lot of volatility in the electorate.
The truth is anyone who tells you they know how this will end is lying because the truth is Labor doesn't know and neither do the Liberals.
Everyone's going in hard and they have to spend the next two weeks convincing normal people that they've made the right decision.
Okay.
Make all these changes.
Like, what's the mood?
The majority is excited.
Right.
Because many of them have wanted something big to fight for.
And they've been worried that the leadership is too timid.
Right?
Right.
There's a lot of lefties on the Labor backbench.
No, that doesn't mean it's a dumb deal forever, but right now there's a happiness broadly, I'm not saying everyone, but that they're going there and that there's something to fight for.
If you've got nothing to fight for in politics... Yeah.
You're dead.
So actually fighting for something is very useful for the Labor Party.
