Good for the Cubs.
Maybe not relative to the rest of the league, though.
Yeah, there's really your guy, Mo Baller.
I don't think so.
Boy, what a blast that would be for Ben Brown, though, just considering the weird career he's had where he looked dead in the water, quite frankly, as a starter to me just because every once in a while, he had two or three really awesome starts before this year, a couple against the Brewers where it was the 10 strikeout, zero walk,
Ben Brown, but he had all those first inning troubles, and then he would have a bad inning late, and then he got good at being the bullpen, and I just thought he was in his own head so much.
So it really is impressive what he's doing.
I wonder what his future is like in terms of the rotation.
Oh, man.
Today, yes.
Edward Cabrera is on the mound, and boy, after what he went through last time, he went a three and a third on that Friday against San Francisco, an 18-3 loss.
Eight runs were given up, and yes, I've said it, I own it.
He's the guy that I expected to be the ace for the Cubs this year, and he's been anything but that.
Maybe because, yeah, because what we saw from Shota, that was needed too.
Even though Shota's outing previous to this one, he was good for five innings and then it all imploded after that.
Last night I thought it was a little bit strategic on the part of Craig Council that it was five innings.
What did he have?
90 pitches, five innings, no runs, two hits, struck out the side in the second inning, allowed a couple of walks,
And it was like, okay, I'm not going to push him into the sixth inning because I did that last time and just started giving a bomb.
So it was a good return to prominence for Shota Imanaga because the two starts previous to last time were eight runs and eight runs.
