So the way to understand Gemba is to understand it in the way the Japanese understand it.

So if a reporter, let's say there's a crime in Tokyo, which there aren't very many crimes in Tokyo because it's one of the safest places in the world, but let's say there's a crime

let's say there's a big car accident in Tokyo, which again, I don't know if I've ever seen.

I think I've seen like three car accidents in 25 years in Japan.

Literally, it's just so rare because people are trained so well to drive.

But let's say there is a big accident in Tokyo.

The reporter would come on and they would have the newscast.

The camera would be rolling and the reporter would be standing there.

There'd be steam from the car crash.

And the reporter would say, this is Mami Takeda coming to you live from the Gemba.

That's the word they would use, which means the scene of the crime.
