Let's break down how to lead effectively without playing the martyr.

First, realize that you are a founder, not a savior.

Too many people think absorbing everyone else's stress makes them a great boss.

It doesn't.

If you're constantly swooping in to fix your team's mistakes before they even feel the consequences, you are enabling them.

Whether it's a client who wants free work or an employee refusing to learn a new skill, rescuing people only makes them dependent.

If you carry it all, you kill your own capacity.

Second, empowerment means letting them struggle.

People don't grow when you hand them the answer, they grow when you hand them the responsibility.

So instead of just doing the work for them because it's faster, step back, make them figure it out, even if they stumble at first.

Lastly,

Protect your own oxygen mask first.

When you are fully rested, focused, and emotionally stable, your leadership becomes magnetic.

Strong boundaries, clear expectations, and personal accountability create a high-performing culture.
