Because the public school I went to was really multicultural.
We had everybody there.
We had Turkish, Portuguese, Yugoslav, you name it, Koori, Anglo-Saxon.
We had everything, everyone there.
So from the Catholic protection to the public, anything goes.
I mean, I thought the teachers were rough.
The teachers swore, which as a child to me was shocking.
And I felt completely unprotected there.
And I wasn't protected.
I mean, apart from the few teachers.
But then once I left Miss Haskell's class and then Miss Eastbourne's class, who was an English, very tall English teacher who I loved.
Both those teachers I loved.
I was very lucky to have them as my first two years in public school.
Then I had the men.
And then it was all over.
I got the nasty, mean, mean spirited, racist, homophobic men, teachers I'm talking about.
So of course the kids are gonna act like that.
The teachers are acting like that.
Why wouldn't the kids act like that?
The teachers would, they would call you wog.
