we got to go around Washington in the bicentennial year.

My parents were, my mom was a chemist.

She and my father were introduced by the parish priest in 1966 in Washington.

So they were Kennedy-esque.

They were the people who came to Washington and were not asking what their country could do for them, but what they could do for their country.

So literally I'm the spawn of,

two NIH scientists and very patriotic background.

We learned back in those days, we used to sing songs, patriotic songs in second grade and third grade and kind of came up through that.

Dad ultimately got recruited to Johns Hopkins where he stood up the first ethics in medicine course.

So dad and mom, we were very,

faithful Catholics and always going to church.

I was an altar boy after all.
