It's a 163 WRC plus, which is 63% better than the average player in the Florida State League.
The power is showing up.
He's been a little lucky on balls in play.
It's been a .458 batting average on balls in play that's been carrying that, so it's probably more like a .250-ish kind of a hitter.
The strikeouts are still there.
He's not walking a ton.
That kind of goes back to the approach.
But I think you look at the bat-to-ball ability.
You look at the raw power there.
here, and that's sort of what you buy into.
It's just a matter of him over these next couple of months refining his approach.
I don't think that's all that different from what we saw from Arjun Namala over the last two years.
We've had ups and downs, kind of valleys and peaks, but one of the positive things that I really kept hammering home in my write-ups this offseason around Namala is how much he cut his strikeout rate.
And even during those struggles over the second half of 2025, he really wasn't swinging and missing a lot.
and that really carried through and got a lot better this year in vancouver and then over the first few weeks in new hampshire before he went down with injury the hit tool had jumped a full grade this is something the blue jays as a development organization have done really well on the hitting side is kind of refining guys approaches we saw it with an addison barger who's turned into a really good big leaguer um
This is something I think Sanchez will, a year from now, we're going to be talking about a different hitter, a guy who's probably going to be more patient, a little bit more refined at the plate, because he has those raw tools.
You kind of can't teach bats a ball ability, and power is so much dictated by the engine of the player, how big you are, how strong you are, the type of capacity you can even add on to your frame.
And it's one of the reasons that scouts still gravitate toward bigger guys because they tend to hit the ball harder.
And hitting the ball hard at the end of the day is still really important.
So I think there's a lot to like here with Sanchez.
