And that's quite mild.
But what I do see with Scotty is, let me go into a little bit of amateur psychology here.
Most golfers, golf is a very technical sport.
It's a game of repetition.
And
Most of the personality types who excel at golf fall into the OCD kind of personality.
They're control freaks.
And if you love repetition and you have a daily routine that you stick by and that's what your personality is, that's generally a really good mentality to be successful at this sport.
Yes, you've got to have an element of creativity and all of that, but generally it's a game of repetition, sticking to the fundamentals and doing the same thing over and over and over.
And you're in control.
Now, when you get variables involved, like a gusting wind, like you had at Muirfield Village, and you have ground conditions that are rock hard, like you had at Aeronamic, that normally shakes guys of that mentality.
And it's difficult.
It puts them in a position where they're not as much in control as they normally would be.
And that's why the best players, generally the best players, love soft conditions.
and not a lot of wind because now they're in control and they can control that ball exactly where it's going to bounce to the yard particularly when it comes to the short irons and wedges you're not going to have that this week um now i know scotty has won an open championship at port rush last year but remember it was a soft port rush um there was a little bit of wind uh that's okay they can control the wind but the main thing about port rush was the ball pretty much died even on a lynx golf course when it hit the ground
And he was pretty much in control and he dominated that event to go on and win.
This is going to be very different this week.
We had heavy rain last night, as I say, no more forecast.
But we are forecasting strong winds.
And the average wind here, we're right on the very, very tip of Long Island.
