Hey, it's Payne Lindsey. A few years ago, I got a call from someone intimately tied to the case of the BTK killer. If you're not familiar, BTK terrorized the city of Wichita throughout the 70s and 80s. He stalked and killed at least 10 people. My first conversation about the case lasted for hours and provided me with exclusive access.

I realized then that this story needed to be told and there is no time better than right now, because we've received news that there may be more BTK victims out there that remain unsolved. My team and I decided to start investigating the BTK killings and interviewing everyone involved in the case. After years of work, we're now ready to deliver the new installment of our Monster franchise.

In 2009, a young woman was arrested. She was later released in the middle of the night with no phone, money, or transportation. She's in an unknown area. So this week's case comes to us from WYFF News 4. According to authorities, on Thursday, May 8th, 2025, 18-year-old Donovan Dempsey left the Spartanburg, South Carolina area, and his family hasn't seen or heard from him since. Donovan's father, David, said the last time he spoke to his son was that Thursday.

He says that he believed that Donovan was in an Uber heading to his girlfriend's house in Spartanburg. A short time later, Donovan's loved ones lost the ability to track his location on his phone, and his phone was eventually turned off.

Now, according to his Uber account, instead of going to his girlfriend's house, Donovan took an Uber to Columbia, where he attends the University of South Carolina. Donovan was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, a gray sweatshirt, black pants, and white and black shoes. According to his family, he didn't bring a backpack and he didn't have any other clothes with him.
