I'm Penny Kinsella.
I've played six tests and 21 internationals for New Zealand.
Absolutely, they should be playing Test cricket.
It's a fine heritage we have of Test cricket dating back to 1935 and over that time we've had some really, really cool struggles against trying to establish ourselves as a Test nation and then actually getting to the point in the 1970s where we won a few matches.
Test for white ferns.
PK says test for white ferns.
And I do get a fair bit of feedback from that, from other people on Twitter.
And then, of course, whenever someone says something about test for white ferns, I get copied into it and I go, I thoroughly agree with this statement.
So what do people say about it?
So a lot of it is around the travesty that players like Sophie Vines, Susie Bates, Leah Tehuhu have not played test cricket and it's not looking likely that some of the current players will do either.
So the likes of Mili Kerr may not get to play test match and she honestly looks like a great test match player.
And I would say the same about Sophie and Susie.
Frankie Mackay, Katie Martin only played one.
That's the kind of thing that is a real blank in our history, you know, from 2004 onwards, no test cricket.
And in fact, no home test since 1995, perhaps.
I don't think we do.
My idea would be to repurpose the North-South series that we've had recently re-instituted into a way of preparing our players to play multi-day format and be able to challenge the best players challenging the best players to see if they actually have what it takes to be able to develop those endurance skills, those strategic skills and also using the red ball which is quite different to white ball cricket.
to be able to develop those skills and be ready to play.
Perhaps maybe not Australia right now, but a team like South Africa or the West Indies or maybe England.
They're on a little bit of a downward trajectory right now, so they might be ready for the taking.
